1989年从北大生物化学本科毕业,1994年获得南加大分子生物学博士,在博士期间和其后在加大圣地亚哥(UCSD)的博士后阶段都从事与RNA相关的研究。在完成三年NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship奖助的博士后之后,王博士随即成立了Allele Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals公司。他在Allele建立了一个包括多名诺贝尔奖实验室培养出的学生和博士后的优秀科研队伍。王博士在纳米抗体、荧光蛋白、诱导型多功能干细胞等领域有创新性贡献,特别是带领团队研究出了把多功能干细胞分化成胰岛beta细胞、可用于治疗脊椎损伤的寡突胶质细胞、以及肝细胞、心肌细胞、神经细胞、间充质干细胞等适用于临床应用的成果。Allele的纳米抗体也有多个抗癌或抗风湿备选药物进展到动物试验的阶段。另外,王博士创立了非营利的Scintillon研究所并一直担任教授、所长。该所现有10名教授,研究细胞成像新技术和疾病机理,特别是神经凋亡疾病。在各项科研成果中特别值得一提的是王博士在干细胞领域发表过的一系列重要文献.  

Dr. Jiwu Wang received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Peking University in1989 and Ph.D. in molecular biology from USC in1994.  He worked in the RNA-related fields in graduate school and as a postdoc at UCSD.  After his postdoc training with an NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship for 3 years, he founded Allele Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals.  He has built a highly distinguished research team at Allele that includes multiple scientists trained as graduate students or postdocs by Nobel Prize winners. Dr. Wang has made seminal contributions to nano antibodies, fluorescent protein markers and sensors, and induced pluripotent stem cell production and clinical applications, such as generating pancreatic beta cells, oligodendrocytes for spinal cord repair, hepatocytes, cardiomyocytes, neurons, mesenchymal stem cells, etc. Several nano antibody drug candidates against cancer or inflammation targets are at the in vivo efficacy stage. Dr. Wang also founded the non-profit Scintillon Institute and serves as Professor and President. The Institute has about 10 faculty memebers working on imaging and cytometry, translational research in various disease areas, particularly in neural degenerative diseases. Dr. Wang has major publications on stem cell biology and manufacturing, among his other scientific achievements.
